Cleaning up... Footprints!

As we continue to work on the new customized private home page, we're taking the time to clean up some related features and pages that could really use a little TLC. First up: Footprints.

Over the last week or so, we've rolled a bunch of fixes and updates for Footprints:

  • Better Bot Filtering - we've updated our filtering system so you should see far fewer footprints from random bots
  • Cleaner "Page Visited" - most of the links in your "Page Visited" column should now have an easy-to-read format like, "Weblog: Cleaning up... Footprints!" (or whatever the actual title of your post was)
  • Shorter "Referrer" URLS - we trimmed some extraneous data off the links in the "Referrer" column so you should be able to see more useful info about the links that are sending folks to your site

To see these updates in action, just visit your Footprints page.

Happy Friday Everyone!

The Power of NO
There is a facebook page called IF I SPOKEN TO MY PARENTS HOW KIDS TALK NOW DAYS I`D BEEN KNOCKED OUT[sic]. Several of my friends have joined, and I'll tell ya, this is a big issue for me.  Now, I don't promote the old adage "Children should be seen and not heard," but I definitely believe children need to learn to respect grownups.  This isn't about adult power-tripping, it is about basic safety and respect for others.

All too often at the grocery store or the mall, I see kids running out into the parking lot unfettered, kids that hit their parents in a tantrum, kids that scream for attention when their grownup is talking to another grownup.  And you know who is power-tripping? More Here...

Facebook status updates

I don't know what it is about my generation, but we have a warped sense of duty to let hundreds of people know our business. There are hundreds of types of Facebook users that update that statuses in embarrassing fashion. More Here...
